Young girl grabbed by man in Vernon

VERNON, B.C. — Police are thanking the public and media for getting the word out about a suspicious incident near Mission Hill School in Vernon on Tuesday evening.

Two 11 year old girls say a male approached them and allegedly grabbed one girl by the arm.

The man fled on foot when the other girl started yelling for help, and two people passing by helped the girls to safety at a nearby church.

“The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP would like thank the public and media for sharing the information in relation to the suspicious occurrence that took place on February 12th, 2019 near Mission Hill School,” says Cst. Kelly Brett. “The good Samaritans that assisted the two youths were identified and have since spoken to police.”
