City looking for public input as Downtown Plan review enters Phase 3

KAMLOOPS —The City of Kamloops is hoping for further public input as the Downtown Plan review enters its third phase.

Last year the city began asking for the public’s thoughts on how they’d like to see the city centre grow and develop.

After gathering that feedback, city staff will be determining how to shape various areas, including transportation and mobility, infrastructure and environment, housing, parks and recreation, and community well-being.

In a release, the city says it will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, February 20th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m from the Valley First Lounge at the Sandman Centre.

The open house will feature interactive displays, a presentation, and a panel discussion with an audience question and answer period.

The feedback gathered from the open house and online surveys will be used to help develop the draft plan for downtown, which will be presented to the community later this year before the plan is taken to Council for adoption.

Along with the open house, residents can also give their input through the Lets Talk Kamloops site, found here, or by registering for a Kitchen Table Conversation online, which can be accessed here.
