KAMLOOPS — While only one retail cannabis store is operating in Kamloops, several private retailers have been given council approval — and two more are hoping they’re added to the list.

Next week, Kamloops City Council is expected to hear from two applicants asking for private cannabis retail licenses.

According to a public notice, one property is located at 279 Tranquille Rd., and the other at 240 Lansdowne St. The applications will be heard on Jan. 29.

If these applications are granted, it would bring the total number of approved cannabis stores in Kamloops to nine — although only one store is operational right now.
