KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Blazers kept Sunday’s game close, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a weekend sweep against the Okanagan Rockets.

The Kelowna-based team scored twice late in the third period to squeak out a 5-4 win on Sunday afternoon at the Sandman Centre.

Logan Stankoven had two goals to bring his season total to 38, including the go-ahead 4-3 goal in the third. The Rockets scored twice in 2:22, including the game-winner with 2:47 left to pull out the road victory.

Sunday’s loss was a bounce back effort of sorts following a lobsided 9-1 defeat at the hands of the Rockets in Kelowna on Saturday afternoon.
