Women’s March returns for third year in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — The third annual Women’s March takes place this weekend, and organizers are hoping the event sets Kamloops on the path towards equality.

Participants will meet in front of the Sandman Centre at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 19), marching for visibility and to inspire activism.

Last year’s event saw roughly 200 people participate. Co-organizer Alix Dolson is hoping to see an equal or greater number this year.

“It’s an event where everyone is welcome,” Dolson said. “We encourage families to come, we encourage men and other allies to come. It’s a wonderful way to get involved in activism and equality in your community.”
