Snowfall warning for Coquihalla Highway

MERRITT, B.C. — An intense weather system has led to a snowfall warning on the Coquihalla Highway.

Environment Canada says snowfall is expected with total amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres.

Light snow from the system will start early this evening and become heavier overnight. The snow is expected to continue through Saturday with total accumulations up to 25 centimetres expected by early Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada says strong winds will blow snow resulting in low visibilities.
