WILLIAMS LAKE — A byelection will be held in the spring for the Electoral Area F Director in the Cariboo Regional District.

Electoral Area F Director-Elect, Conrad Turcotte, was unable to take his oath of office by the December 7th deadline following the October 20th election.

The CRD says it was due to a personal matter.

According to the Williams Lake Tribune, Turcotte suffered a stroke on the day after the election, and has been hospitalized ever since.

The byelection is tentatively scheduled for March 30, 2019, but the CRD will confirm following their January 18th board meeting.

Former Area F Director, Joan Sorley will hold the position until the by-election.

Electoral Area F consists of the area around 150 Mile House, Likely and Horsefly.

More information will be posted online at the CRD website.
