70 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A pair of anglers are facing $3,000 in fines for overfishing and using too many lines on Big Bar Lake.

Conservation officers responded to the area on Dec. 4 at 11:00 a.m., after a tip came in. Officers arrived to find both men were angling with more than one fishing line as well as angling with a line to which more than one hook is attached, and catching and retaining more than the daily quota.

The investigation led the officers to a cabin where they discovered over limits of rainbow trout and several violations from the day prior.

A total of $3,050 in fines, and seizures of the fish and angling equipment were issued.
