Blazers rally, win at home for the first time in six weeks

KAMLOOPS — Quinn Schmiemman scored on a two-on-one pass from Orrin Centazzo at 1:29 of overtime to give the Kamloops Blazers a 3-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades.

It was the Blazers third win at home in ten home games this season, and the first since defeating Swift Current over a month ago, on October 19.

For a while, it looked like it might not happen.

After a scoreless first Saskatoon took a 2-0 lead on goals by Emil Malysjev and Max Gerlach at 4:30 and 11:21 on the power play in the second.

Jermaine Loewen with his 9th of the season scored for Kamloops before the second was over.

Connor Zary then tied it with a breakaway goal at 9:15 of the third, sending the game to overtime.

Dylan Garand, starting in place of the injured Dylan Ferguson, stopped 23 of 25 Saskatoon shots.

Nolan Meier was 26-for-29 in the Saskatoon net.
