Potential pot shop for Lansdowne Village

KAMLOOPS — A retail space in downtown Kamloops may soon become a recreational cannabis store.

Four units next to London Drugs at 450 Lansdowne St. — known as Lansdowne Village — are proposed for a pot shop and the City of Kamloops is seeking public feedback.

“The City of Kamloops has received a permit application to establish or amend a Retail Cannabis Sales Licence on the above noted property,” a sign covering the windows reads. “The Council of the City of Kamloops wishes to determine the views of the residents regarding the issuance of the above referenced licence.”

Comments are being accepted in writing until Nov. 20.

This proposed store comes after two private recreational cannabis retailers received approval from city council, both on the North Shore. Kamloops is also home to the province’s first government-operated cannabis store.
