Province issues air quality advisories for Vernon, Lavington
VERNON, B.C. — Air quality advisories have been issued for Vernon and Lavington.
The Ministry of Environment says it’s due to high concentrations of fine particulates, caused by wood smoke (wood stoves and/or open burning), and emissions from industry and vehicles.
Meteorologist Graham Veale says the conditions are expected to continue until there is a change in the weather.
“Persons with chronic underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted,” says Veale.
