KAMLOOPS — Vancouver and Victoria will host the World Junior Hockey Championship in late December and early January.

One of the teams will hold some of its pre-tournament training in Kamloops.

USA Hockey says its junior team will hold the first part of its pre-tournament camp in Everett, Washington and then travel to Kamloops for its final World Junior tuneup December 19-23.

USA Hockey says a practice schedule will be released in the coming days, and work is being done on trying to schedule at least one pre-tournament game at the Sandman Centre.

The U.S. team is expected to include the Hughes brothers ---- Jack, who is projected to be the first overall pick in the 2019 NHL draft, and his brother Quinn, the Vancouver Canucks first round pick in the 2018 draft.

The U.S. and both Hughes brothers played in the World Junior Showcase this past summer in Kamloops.
