SALMON ARM — Police are reporting a new development in a missing woman’s case in the Shuswap.

Ashley Simpson has not been seen since April 2016, when she disappeared near Salmon Arm.

Global News says her driver’s licence has been found in northern BC, at a  trucker’s lodge on the Alaska Highway, north of Fort St. John.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says Simpson was linked to the lodge prior to her moving to the Okanagan.

Reports say the ID was found in the tank of a sewage vacuum truck.

She is one of five women who went missing in the area in 2016 and 2017.
