KAMLOOPS — A construction project at Royal Inland Hospital is expected to have an impact on traffic for the next couple of weeks.

Interior Health says in a news release that access changes will be taking place at the hospital this week and next week due to construction of the RIH Patient Care Tower project.

As of tomorrow, Oct. 10, the east portion of the hospital campus’s ring road will be closed for the duration of the project. Visitors and patients attending RIH will still be able to use the northern portion of the road to access the Clinical Services Building parkade, but through traffic on the ring road will be closed.

Next Tuesday, Oct. 16, the breezeway at the north entrance to the hospital, along with the bus drop-off along the Clinical Services Building, will be closed to vehicle traffic. Traffic coming into the RIH campus will be directed to use Third Avenue and the remaining portion of the ring road for access to the site.
