Escaped cow ties up traffic on Trans Canada Highway in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — A desperate bovine making one last ditch bid for freedom in Sahali didn’t make it this afternoon.

The cow escaped from a local veterinarian’s trailer, and while the vet had no success corralling it again, they did keep RCMP officers apprised of its location for public safety reasons.

Traffic on the Trans Canada Highway eastbound toward Valleyview was held up while the beast meandered through.

The animal journeyed through Sahali and over the South Thompson River before an RCMP officer caught up to it near the Tk’emlups Powwow Grounds.

At the advice of the veterinarian, the officer put the cow down.
