CRD survey for those affected by wildfires

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — The Cariboo Regional District has launched a survey for residents and visitors affected by this summer’s wildfires.

The CRD says the survey will be used to review the response to this year’s emergencies.

According to an email news release, the survey “measures overall response efforts, mental health, agriculture and business impacts.”

You can fill out the survey online by clicking here. For those without access to a computer, you can complete a forum at CRD libraries. The deadline to complete the survey is Oct. 1.

Survey results will be published late this fall.

The CRD says this summer’s wildfires prompted 51 evacuation orders and alerts within its boundaries.

No primary residences were lost, however three other structures were destroyed.

During the summer of 2017, wildfires caused 149 evacuations. There were 61 homes and 167 structures lost.
