Former Kamloops residents arrested in Merritt stabbing
MERRITT, B.C. — A 54 year old man from Merritt is recovering in hospital following an alleged stabbing last night.
Merritt RCMP Staff Sgt. Lorne Wood says police received word of the incident at around 6:00 p.m.
“A Merritt RCMP member was flagged down by a local resident regarding a disturbance at Lions Park near Voght Street,” he says. “The investigation determined that a 54 year old resident of Merritt had gotten into an altercation with two individuals which resulted in the victim being stabbed in the back.”
Wood says the victim suffered a collapsed lung and had to be transported to hospital in Kamloops where it is expected that he will recover.
