WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A protest was held in the Chilcotin this weekend over further exploration and drilling by Taseko Mines in an area about 125 kilometres west of Williams Lake.

A court ruling allows the company to drill for minerals at more than 100 sites and set up a base camp.

The federal government has twice denied approval for Taseko to build an open pit mine, Prosperity, in this area that the Tsilhqot’in Nation say is sacred to them.
