BC Wildfire Service lifts campfire bans

KAMLOOPS — Along with cooler temperatures, yet another sign the wildire season is starting to wind down.

The BC Wildfire Service has lifted campfire bans throughout the Kamloops, Cariboo and Prince George fire centres effective at 12:00 noon Friday.

Campfire bans will be partially rescinded in the Coastal Fire Centre, Southeast Fire Centre and Northwest Fire Centre.

Despite today’s announcement however, some activities remain prohibited including Category 2 and Category 3 open fires: the use of tiki torches and the use of fireworks and binary exploding targets.
