ICBC and police to B.C. motorists: ‘Take a break from your phone’

KAMLOOPS — “Take a break from your phone.”

That’s the message ICBC and police have for motorists this month as another distracted driving blitz has been launched for September.

The campaign will include ramped up police enforcement and community volunteers conducting Cell Watch deployments to remind drivers to take a break from their phone while driving.

Free ‘not while driving’ decals are available at ICBC driver licensing offices and participating Autoplan broker offices.

Distracted driving is the second leading contributing factor in traffic fatalities, behind speed and ahead of impaired driving.
