Nomination period opens for local elections

KAMLOOPS — The nomination period opens today for those wanting to take a run at local politics.

Michelle Nordstrom, communications and marketing manager with the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD), says the deadline to file your papers is Friday Sept. 14 at 4 p.m.

“They (papers) need to be received in our office. However, if somebody is unable to send them to our office by that deadline, they can also fax them through to us or scan it and email it to our deputy corporate officer.”

General Voting Day is Saturday, October 20 with an advance poll scheduled for Wednesday, October 10.
