VICTORIA — With hundreds of wildfires continuing to rage across B.C., Victoria has extended its provincial state of emergency through to Sept. 12, 2018.
The province first declared a state of emergency on Aug. 15 and notes the extension may be extended or rescinded as necessary.
“This ensures that all needed resources can be delivered in a coordinated response to the wildfire situation and continue to ensure public safety, which remains the provincial government’s top priority,” says the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.
