TNRD lifts evacuation order for residents in electoral area “A”

KAMLOOPS — Good news for property owners in electoral area “A” in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD).

The TNRD has rescinded the evacuation order it issued back on Aug. 11 due to the diminished wildfire threat in the area, which includes properties bordering Murray Lake.

Despite the lifting of the order, the TNRD says an evacuation alert remains in place and warns an order will be issued if the risk of danger to life and property again warrants such action.
