BCFC suspends Westshore Rebels coach

KAMLOOPS – The B.C. Football Conference has suspended Westshore Rebels coach Charly Cardilicchia for three games.

The suspension is for what the BCFC says is violating the Coaches Code of Ethics.

Cardilicchia directed some harsh comments towards the league’s executive following the cancellation of Westshore’s game in Kamloops last weekend because of the air quality.

Westshore had already crossed from the Island to the mainland when notified of the cancellation, and won’t be reimbursed for expences.

Cardilicchia was in hot water with the league earlier this season for critical comments of other teams, coaches and players.    He later issued an apology on the Westshore Rebels website.

Westshore Rebels Head Coach Suspended

Westshore Rebels – The British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) announced today:

Westshore Rebels Head Coach Charly Cardilicchia has been suspended for 3  games for violating the Coaches Code of Ethics. The BCFC has also applied further sanctions against the Westshore Rebels Football Club regarding this matter. As per league policy, details will not be disclosed, and any further questions can be directed to BCFC President Tyler McLaren

Official Statement

The Westshore Rebels respect the BC Football Conference’s decision regarding the 3-game suspension of Head Coach Charly Cardilicchia. His personal comments were in direct violation of the Coaches Code of Ethics and in no way were they reflective of the opinions of the Westshore Rebels. Effective immediately Shane Beatty will be the acting Head Coach.
