Tournament Capital wins bid to host 2020 Canada 55+ Games

KAMLOOPS — Another major sporting event is coming to Kamloops.

This morning, the city learned it has won the bid to host the 2020 Canada 55+ Games in August 2020. The Tournament Capital beat out Whitehorse, Calgary and Fort McMurray to win the chance to host the event.

The announcement was made at the opening ceremonies of the 2018 games in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Sean Smith, business operations and events supervisor with the city, says the games will feature 23 events to be held at venues throughout Kamloops.
