KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops-based Jim Pattison Broadcast Group is growing.

The media company announced this morning it has acquired Fabmar Communications and its four Western Canada radio stations, subject to approval from the CRTC.

The stations are located in Chilliwack (89.5 The Drive – CHWK-FM), Whitecourt, Alberta (XM 105 FM – CIXM-FM) and Melfort, Saskatchewan (105 CJVR – CJVR-FM and CK750 – CKJH-AM).

Pattison Group President Rod Schween says all management and team members will be offered opportunities to continue on.

The purchase also includes online news portals in all three markets, as well as an outdoor signage business based in Saskatchewan.

In a news release, Fabmar Secretary Treasurer Adrian Fabro said, “It has been our pleasure to serve our listeners and clients over the past five decades. We are confident that the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group is the best choice to provide future opportunities for growth and success, not only for our radio stations and team members that operate them, but also for the communities they serve.”

The purchase would bring Pattison’s complement to 44 FM radio stations and three AM radio stations in Western Canada.
