KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has issued a Smoky Skies bulletin for much of the southern Interior, including the South Thompson valley.

According to the forecaster, smoke is blowing in from various wildfires, including the Spences Bridge fire along the Thompson River.

The smoke is not as intense as it is with larger fires in the Okanagan.

Environment Canada warns smoke conditions can change rapidly over short distances during wildfire events.

Those with compromised respiratory systems should stay inside rather than become exposed to wildfire smoke.
