Study shows Ribfest provides big economic boost to Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — A new study by O’Leary & Associates Ltd. shows Ribfest 2017 provided a big economic boost to Kamloops.
Spokesperson Colin O’Leary says it revealed the direct economic contribution by visitors to the event in 2017 was between $2.72 million and $2.9 million dollars.
He says the estimated total impact accruing to British Columbia in 2017 due to Ribfest was $3.98 to $5.97 million.
O’Leary adds Ribfest has become a regional event noting that 26 to 28 per cent of attendees are non-Kamloops residents.
