KAMLOOPS — It’s full steam ahead for the Rocky Mountaineer tourist train in Kamloops.

Vice President of Rail Operations and Asset Development Gord Miller says the company is planning a big increase in capacity.

“Rocky Mountaineer has had some good growth over the last five years and we plan to double the size of our company by 2022,” he says. “Some fairly aggressive growth plans but definitely doable and we’re seeing some great interest in the Rockies and great interest in Rocky Mountaineer.”

Miller says the company is buying new rail cars and notes the train’s impact on Kamloops is substantial.
