B.C. Lions all-star linebacker Solomon Elimimian placed on injured list
SURREY, B.C. — The B.C. Lions notched a big win Saturday night, but the victory has cost them two star players.
Coach Wally Buono said linebacker Solomon Elimimian is out after having surgery on his hand or wrist on Tuesday. Elimimian has been placed on the six-game injured list.
Buono said he wasn’t exactly sure what the injury was or whether it happened on a specific play during the Lions’ 20-17 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday.
“Injuries sometimes aren’t just one play,” he told reporters after practice Tuesday. “The constant pounding, you fall on it wrong, somebody hits you with their helmet. Injuries happen in many ways.”
