KAMLOOPS — The provincial government has extended its smoky skies bulletin for Kamloops and surrounding areas.

Other communities under the bulletin include Cache Creek, Spences Bridge, Logan Lake, Rayleigh and Monte Creek.

It’s a continuation of the bulletin issued Friday though the City of Kamloops seems fairly smoke-free at the moment.

“With a smoky skies bulletin, it’s not necessarily stating that there is smoke present anywhere, it’s just that there is the potential for it to occur,” says Air Quality Meteorologist Graham Veale. “And so a lot of the areas in Kamloops are likely clear and not showing any signs or impacts from smoke but there is the potential for it to occur.”
