KAMLOOPS — Due to the out of control wildfire near Kamloops, Environment Canada has issued an air quality advisory.

The South Thompson region could see reduced air quality should the wind direction cause smoke to build up in the Kamloops airshed.

People with pre-existing health conditions, the elderly, infants, and people with smoke sensitivities may experience negative health impacts from smoke exposure.

The Air Quality Health Index currently ranks Kamloops’ air quality at a 3, which indicates a low health risk.
