KAMLOOPS — A great second quarter for passenger numbers at Kamloops Airport.

Jeff Scherban, manager of airport operations, says the number of passengers is up 4.2 per cent from the second quarter last year to just over 77,000 passengers.

“It was a spectacular quarter. It was the best second quarter we’ve had in the history of the airport.”

Scherban attributes the increase to the popularity of two new routes – including WestJet’s Kamloops to Calgary run and Air Canada Rouge’s direct service to Toronto.
