New course record in first round of B.C. Amateur at Rivershore

KAMLOOPS — A new course record has been set in the first round of the B.C. Amateur Golf Championship at Rivershore.

Patrick Murphy from Crossfield, Alberta shot a 10-under 62.

The previous course record of 63 was shared by Rogers Sloan and Warren Schutte.

It did'nt start that well for Murphy with a par and a bogey on the first two holes.

After that it was lights our with nine birdies and an eagle three at the 15th

Murphy holds a five shot clubhouse lead in round one.

The top local golfer so far in round one is Brent Pound at 3-under.
