Pedestrian safety improvements coming to Park Drive

KAMLOOPS — Preliminary work is set to begin next week along Park Drive in Valleyview. 

As part of the Marion Schilling Safer Schools Project the street will be improved for pedestrian safety. 

The improvements include reconstruction of the sidewalk on the east side of Park Drive, improving signage, intersection improvements, improving crosswalks, replacing catch basins, and formalizing driveway letdowns.

The city says preliminary work will begin on Wednesday and construction will begin the week of July 16. 

Work will happen between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, with some weekend work possible.

The project is expected to be complete by the end of August.
