Kamloops’ Stewart wins para shot put at Canadian Track and Field Championships

KAMLOOPS — Greg Stewart is the new Canadian champion in the para shot put.

The Kamloops athlete topped the podium today at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Ottawa.

Stewart had a throw of 15.4 in the para ambulatory shot put, nearly a metre and a half more than the second place thrower from Ontario.

Stewart, who is in training for qualifying for the 2020 paralympics,  was competing against a field of seven others at the Canadian championships.
