Property tax deadline looming

KAMLOOPS — The deadline for Kamloops property owners to pay their property taxes, and to apply for the homeowner’s grant, is quickly approaching.

Property taxes were sent out in late May and are due next Tuesday, July 3rd. And while more and more people are using the convenience of monthly payment options, or through their financial institution, some homeowners are still choosing to line up at city hall, which is open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Homeowners are urged to avoid putting payment in the mail because the city has to receive it electronically or in person for it to be processed. And be warned, any late payments come with a 10 per cent penalty.
