KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for many regions in the B.C. Interior.

Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau says a cold front will bring heavy rain, and strong wind gusts.

“As this cold front comes through tonight, we’re expecting to see rain begin across many regions with some potential to have thunderstorms embedded in that rain giving even heavier local rainfall amounts,” Charbonneau said. “So, we have the potential of downpours, up to 20 mm to fall in a short period of time within those embedded thunderstorms, as well as potential to have wind gusts up to 70 km/h as that front is passing tonight.”

Charbonneau says Kamloops will see about 5-10 mm of rain.
