Black bear shot, left for dead in Westsyde
KAMLOOPS — The Conservation Officer Service is seeking the public’s help in locating two men who are suspected of illegally shooting and killing a black bear in Westsyde.
Conservation Officer Jim Melenka says the incident occurred on Friday, June 15 at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the 3.3 kilometre mark on Noble Lake Road.
“An individual heard a shot, came around the corner and observed two men outside of a vehicle, one person holding a rifle. As soon as the person saw them the other two men jumped in their vehicle and fled the site,” he says. “There was then found a shot and left dead black bear.”
