KAMLOOPS — Hundreds of people will gather this weekend to honour those living with ALS and to remember those who have lost their battle to the disease.

Saturday marks the 9th Annual Walk for ALS at Riverside Park, to support the thousands of Canadians living with the disease. 60% of the money raised in BC will stay in the province to provide patients and families with much needed help and equipment, to make it more comfortable and convenient to live as long as possible with the terminal disease.

Locally, this year’s fundraising goal is $40,000 which will also go towards research to find better treatment, and eventually a cure. Participants for Saturday’s walk are asked to check in at 9am at the bandshell in Riverside Park, and the walk will get underway at 10am.
