Haze over Kamloops likely due to weather, not smoke

KAMLOOPS — A light haze over Kamloops has residents scratching their heads.

Ministry of Environment Air Quality Meteorologist Ralph Adams says there is no indication that the haze is a result of wildfire smoke.

“None of the fire smoke transport models are showing smoke being transported even in very low concentrations,” Adams said. “There doesn’t appear to be any fires that are large enough to be causing this sort of wide spread smoke near us.”

Adams says the haze is more likely caused by a combination of weather elements.
