Williams Lake Mounties investigating ‘suspicious death’

KAMLOOPS — RCMP in Williams Lake have launched an investigation into what they’re calling a “suspicious death.”
North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says it all started during the afternoon hours of June 1 when police were called to a home on the Alkali Lake First Nations reserve for a report of a sudden death.
“Upon police investigation, they discovered an adult female deceased,” she says. “During the course of the investigation, the death appeared suspicious in nature and North District Major Crime was called for assistance and now has conduct of the investigation.”
Despite the seriousness of the investigation, Saunderson says police do not believe the public is at risk.
