70 MILE HOUSE — Two people are in police custody after stealing a car in the South Cariboo Wednesday morning.

North District Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says the theft occurred after a vehicle crashed in the 70 Mile House area.

“A good Samaritan stopped to help the people in the truck. The two occupants, an adult male and female, stole the good Samaritan’s vehicle and headed north on Highway 97. The good Samaritan was not injured.”

She says the police, with the assistance of the Williams Lake and Quesnel RCMP, ERT, PDS and Air 3, located the stolen vehicle and arrested the two suspects.
