Machete-wielding man, three others arrested outside Kamloops casino

KAMLOOPS — Four men are behind bars after a dramatic arrest in Kamloops.

RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the arrests were made this morning after police responded to a complaint of a man waving a machete around in the Cascades Casino parking lot.

She says three other men were with him and police arrested all of them.

“A search of their vehicle revealed a second machete, brass knuckles, a sawed-off shotgun and a quantity of illegal drugs,” Shelkie says. “The drugs have been sent for testing to confirm their composition.”

She says all four suspects are from the Lower Mainland and known to police. They are currently in custody as the investigation continues.
