KAMLOOPS — A sprint through downtown Kamloops ended with a breach of probation suspect under arrest yesterday afternoon.

RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the man was found breaching a “no contact order” at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

“Police officers found a male in breach of his probation in the 500-block of Columbia Street. When the officers informed the man that he was under arrest, he took off running,” said Shelkie.

“A few minutes later, another officer saw the suspect running in an alley between St. Paul Street and Seymour Street. A foot chase ensued with the officer catching the male near St. Paul Street and Fourth Avenue,” said Shelkie.
