Blazers set to sign Stankoven

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers will hold a media conference this afternoon to announce the signing of Logan Stankoven.

The 15-year old from Kamloops was the Blazers first round pick, and fifth player taken overall, in the 2018 WHL bantam draft.

Stankoven, who attended the Blazers prospects camp this weekend, says he will play with the Thompson Blazers of the B.C. Major Midget League in the 2018-19 season.

At 15 he is still a year away from fulltime with the major junior Blazers.

Stankoven played for the Yale Academy in Abbotsford last season, scoring 57 goals and 90 points in 30 games.
