Evacuation orders and alerts lifted for Xusum Creek fire

LILLOOET — All evacuation orders and alerts in relation to the Xusum Creek fire near LIllooet have been lifted.

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District announced the news on its website this afternoon.

More favourable weather conditions this week have allowed BC Wildfire Service crews to get a better on all fires in the Kamloops Fire Centre.

On Wednesday, cooler weather allowed the Thompson-Nicola Regional District to lift all evacuation orders in relation to the Allie Lake fire north of Savona.

The Xusum Creek fire, which is still 500 hectares in size and 35 per cent contained, ignited May 23.
