KAMLOOPS — The raging Allie Lake wildfire north of Savona has doubled in size overnight to 1,600 hectares.

Kamloops Fire Centre Communications Assistant Marla Catherall says it’s also “out of control,” though no structures are currently threatened.

“I don’t have an exact number of crew personnel on scene today yet, though we did have 23 working the fire overnight,” she says. “We’ll have crews, helicopters, airtankers and heavy equipment back on site today.”
