Toronto Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan earns spot on the All-NBA’s second team
Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan earned a spot on the All-NBA second team, his second consecutive All-NBA honour.
The 28-year-old, who was named to the third team last season, set a career high in assists average while leading the Raptors to a franchise-record 59 wins and the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for the first time.
“Being recognized among an elite group of my peers is always rewarding,” said DeRozan. “Knowing where I started and the work I’ve put in each year to improve makes this even more humbling.”
DeRozan averaged a team-best 23 points, plus 5.2 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game, and scored a franchise-record 52 points in an overtime victory Jan. 1 versus Milwaukee. He joins Vince Carter as the only Raptors to earn multiple All-NBA honours.
