Environment Canada: above average temperatures in Kamloops to last all week

KAMLOOPS  — It appears Mother Nature won’t be lending a hand in helping ease the flood threat in Kamloops this week.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Cindy Yu says a ridge of high pressure will remain in place over B.C.’s Interior for the next few days, meaning temperatures will sit in the 30 to 31 degrees Celsius range.

After that, she says there will be increasing instability in the forecast starting later this week.

“So, even though we’re forecasting sunny weather for Thursday, don’t be surprised to see clouds and showers or thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain in the high 20s and low 30s unfortunately though Wednesday to Friday. On Saturday, there’s a trough moving through and we should be seeing cooler temperatures next weekend.”
